As a mom, I care about the welfare of my children, just as all mom's do. I hope this is true of all mothers. I also care about how the school system educates their students. After completing my M.Ed. I questioned how well they did educate. I was so glad my husband felt the same way.
My research project was designed to examine the present use
of academic assistance in U.S. schools, and determine whether or not increasing
assistance would enhance student performance. My topic researched NCLB, the Jamaican private school model, and the U.S. school model. I felt my children should not be apart of the U.S. school system. My conclusion was that the Jamaican private school model was more proficient. More students succeed, there were fewer drop outs, and more went on to higher education and careers.
In conclusion of my research, and my belief of the U.S. school system failing, even though both my husband and I went though the public school system and succeeded; we decided to home school our children/unschool them.
I have attached the link below to my efolio where you are able to view my Master's portfolio and read my thesis if you are interested.
